Send Finn to National History Day Competition

Hi! My name is Finn and I’m a high school student in Denver, Colorado. This year, I participated in National History Day (NHD) and created a website about Dana Crawford, a Colorado preservationist. My website took third place at the NHD district competition, but I worked very hard to improve it for the state competition, and I took first place in my division! This earned me a place to compete at the national competition, which is held at the University of Maryland June 9 - June 13. This competition brings together students from all 50 states, Washington D.C., Guam, American Samoa, Puerto Rico and American schools in Asia in a celebration of history. I’m so excited to represent my home state of Colorado and share the important story of Dana Crawford with even more people.

Talking with other students who have been before, this competition is an amazing opportunity to meet other students who are passionate about history while also having the chance to experience important historic sites first hand in Washington D.C. This would be my first trip to our nation’s capital.

I’ve made even more improvements to my NHD website and now I just need your help to get to the competition. My fundraising goal includes airfare, ground transportation, hotel accommodation, food, registration fees and admission for a visit to Mount Vernon (so excited!).

I must have the money for my trip by May 31st, so time is definitely short! I would be grateful for anything that you can contribute.

I’ll post an update on my fundraising page so that everyone who helped me get to nationals can see how I did!
