We’re the Virginia Tech Powerlifting Club, and this semester six of our lifters qualified for Collegiate Nationals (CNATS) in New Orleans.
For us, powerlifting isn’t just a sport. It’s a community and a commitment. We train early mornings and late nights between classes, jobs, labs, and exams. We push each other to show up when it’s hard, stay disciplined when no one is watching, and earn every pound on the bar the right way.
Qualifying for CNATS is a huge milestone. It means we’ve put in the work to earn a spot alongside the best collegiate lifters in the country. Now we want the chance to step on that platform and represent Virginia Tech the way it deserves: prepared, confident, and proud.
Why we’re fundraising
Getting six athletes to CNATS is expensive. Travel costs add up quickly! Flights from Richmond (RIC), four nights of lodging, transportation, meet expenses, and basic meals. As a student club, we don’t have a big athletic budget behind us, and many of our lifters are paying for school and living expenses.
That’s why we’re asking for help.
Why it matters
This is the opportunity we’ve worked for all semester and for many of us, all year. CNATS is a chance to compete on a national stage, gain experience, and prove that Virginia Tech belongs among the best.
If you’re able to donate, share, or sponsor thank you. Even small contributions make a real difference. And if you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser still helps us a ton.
Thank you for supporting Virginia Tech Powerlifting and helping us chase this goal.
Let’s show up at CNATS and represent the Hokies the right way.
