I am a 5th grade teacher working to fund a field trip for my students and another class at our school. We want to take our students to Oracle Park in San Francisco for a geometry-focused field trip. For many of our students, this will be their first time visiting a professional sports stadium—and even their first time traveling to San Francisco. That alone makes this experience truly special and memorable.
This trip brings learning to life in a way that the classroom simply cannot. Our students will see how geometry exists everywhere in baseball—from the angles of the bases and the arc of a home run to the dimensions of the field and the design of the stadium itself. Being able to explore a real Major League Baseball stadium, tour behind the scenes, and even run the bases transforms abstract math concepts into unforgettable, hands-on learning. More than just a field trip, this experience builds confidence, curiosity, and connection. It shows students that math is real, meaningful, and part of the world around them.
For many, running the bases on a professional field will be a once-in-a-lifetime memory—one that reminds them they belong in big spaces and can dream big dreams. To our potential supporters: thank you for helping make opportunities like this possible. Your generosity doesn’t just fund a trip—it creates inspiration, expands horizons, and gives our students an experience they will carry with them for years to come. We are deeply grateful for your support in turning this vision into reality.
