MaBi English began last year in Italy, founded by two students, Bianca Arcoria and Matilde Lamagna, passionate about nurturing their roots and giving back to their country of origin. In Italian communities, children often receive limited English instruction, which can create barriers to opportunity and growth. Please check out our programs on www.mabienglish.it and @mabienglish!
After running a successful English summer school in Catania last year with the support of the Mayor and Punto Luce Save the Children, we were inspired to launch a year-long online program and return to Catania for another summer school in Summer 2026.
This year, we want to take our impact a step further by sending two outstanding students to a residential English summer course. These students will be selected in collaboration with local agencies and schools, whose principals will nominate those who have shown enthusiasm, ability, and commitment, and whose families are supportive. Many of these children come from communities where school avoidance is common, but with the help of organizations like Punto Luce Save the Children, we are able to identify and support those with promise.
Attending a residential English summer course will give these students the chance to immerse themselves in the language, connect with peers from other backgrounds and regions, and start building valuable skills and networks. This experience will not only help them learn English as a tool for opportunity, but also empower them to emerge from their communities and dream bigger. We hope you’ll join us in making this life-changing opportunity possible for these deserving students.
