We learn our best when we are at play!
Soaring Eagle Nature Center is a 501c3 non-profit that receives no city, county or state dollars. We are seeking funds to create a natural playground and exploring area. Promoting visual and spatial learning, the area can be utilized as an outdoor classroom and support STEM learning.
Additionally funds will be applied to improve handicap accessibility, a team-building course, and needed repairs to our historic one-room schoolhouse. It was the last built and last surviving in original form in our county.
Our center hosts free events and is open to the public dawn to dusk. On our 40 acres we have trails that wander through prairie, woodlands and wetlands. We have a 1938 Nature Barn, a rescued one-room schoolhouse, and we converted an old petting zoo into an off-leash dog park!
We are seeking funds to continue to improve the outdoor experiences for our visitors of all ages. We partner with the conservation board, scouting programs and local schools to provide outdoor education opportunities and projects. We are also a hopeful emerging partner site with Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area.
Any donations will be leveraged when possible through grant opportunities to maximize your gift and direct impact on outdoor education!
