In December of 2020, Se’Nita Harris celebrated her 38th birthday. Like most of us, she brought in her special day at home in quarantine, in the midst of a global pandemic, alone in her NYC apartment. Living in NYC, it was her Boomerang dreams come true. It was the birthplace of her vlog, The Life of Sen. Little did she know, that it would be that very blog to which she would document the hardest journey of her life thus far. 

The global pandemic was not the only reason that Se’Nita’s 38th birthday was a little heavier than usual. In fact, just a few months before, Se'Nita- the daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, bestie, co-worker and friend, at just 37 years old, felt a lump in her breast. Not wanting to add any additional stress to 2020, she put off going to check it out. After all, they don’t advise women to keep an eye out for breast cancer until they turn 40, and she was a long way out from that. 

Having always been a woman of faith, Se’Nita was just unable to shake that nagging feeling that she should get checked out, and it wasn't but a few weeks that she succumbed to the voice in her spirit telling her to move. Thank God she did. 

She got the call to come in, and was told she had Stage 2 Breast Cancer. She couldn’t believe it. Of course, she knows that breast cancer is something that so many women would face in their lifetimes. After all, she is a marketing professional, with a focus on multicultural and purpose driven campaigns, and ironically, she had recently started helping out with breast cancer awareness marketing efforts. But, Se’Nita never dreamed of what it would feel like when it was her diagnosis she was facing. Had she waited any longer, the news could have been much worse. 

Despite the many difficult things going on at once, Se’Nita continues to remain positive and optimistic during her journey. She often documents her life, bright smile, and energetic spirit on her Tik Tok page @TheLifeofSen. She brings so many of us so much joy. Similar to so many others in America during this time, her medical bills are increasing at an astounding rate. She is currently actively under-going treatment that consists of 16 rounds of chemotherapy, breast surgery, and 6 to 8 weeks of radiation treatment.

We are asking you-whether be family, friend, friend of friend, or a stranger, to donate to our girl, to help lift some of the heavy burden. If there is one thing 2020 has taught us, it is that we are all inexplicably connected to the lives of each other. It only takes a small good act from the heart to change a life. Please help give our girl just a little bit of that infections energy back to focus on herself, as well as her mind, her body and staying healthy enough to undergo treatment. With your help, we can help remove some of the stress that comes with the worry of financial overwhelm from her many doctor's visits. Any amount is helpful.
