Seminole High School Baseball Supporters

We are reaching out to all friends, family, alumni, and supporters of players, past and present, to help us raise money for significant, much needed baseball field improvements at historic Seminole High School (Sanford, FL).

 

Over the last year, through Seminole County funding and team fundraising in the Spring of 2021, we have made some progress in improving our baseball facilities including getting new dugouts built (Services paid/provided by Seminole County- existing dugouts were condemned), adding new LED lights for the field, and are close to securing new batting cage netting and turf.

 

While some progress is being made, we are still in great need of broader fundraising to cover the larger and more expensive structural issues at our baseball field. In fact, the baseball facilities have been in such bad repair that our JV and Varsity baseball teams had no home field to play games during the Fall and Spring seasons (2020-21).

 

The first and most expensive need is to replace the old and deteriorating backstop and field netting which will allow for safer play, an improved spectator experience, as well as a lasting cosmetic upgrade.

 

We also need to significantly improve the field playing surface and bullpen areas. Once the backstop and netting are replaced, based on the financial success of our donations campaign, these additional field projects will be prioritized and completed. If/when we reach our full financial goal, we expect to be able to cover the expense for all of the much needed baseball field projects listed.

 

SHS has always been a premier baseball organization, winning two State Championships in 1992 and 2019. The program prides itself on teaching and developing leadership and team principles for baseball and life skills. The coaches foster a true family environment with players, parents and fellow students. They prioritize building character, leadership skills and lifelong friendships to help prepare each team member for a bright future. Our goal is to improve the baseball facilities to better reflect the commitment that the coaches and players pour into the program every day.

Seminole High School, originally established as Sanford High School (Built in 1902), is a public high school located in Sanford, Florida.
