Seminary Fundraiser for Lisa Dimmitt!

I'm so excited to tell you I'm finally going to seminary (online) at Asbury Theological Seminary!

After 30 years of missions and ministry-- I'm ready for the challenge of a Master of Arts in leadership and excited to see how God will deepen my love and understaning of who He is and give me tools of how to lead the body of Christ more effectively.

As you may know, seminary is expensive!

Regular tuition with books and fees go up to $40,000. I've applied for a scholarship/financial aid which will hopefully bring the fees down to $20,000. I'm encouraged that 80 percent of people who go to Asbury get financial help. I've mostly lived a simple life in missions these past 30 years. I didn't even own furniture or kitchenware until I was 37. I often lived in communities or dorms with Youth With A Mission. It was a joyful life in Christian community! I have loved my life in missions and I wouldn't trade it for the world, but I do need your help:

I can guarrantee you this-- your money will not go to waste! I have ministered in over 20 nations with the word, worship and practical discipleship. Along with that, Michael and I plan on going back into the nations and missions work after we have helped my parents in their time of need. We've been back in California for the past 17 months to help my dad after his Alzheimer's diagnosis and support my mother. It's been a surprising journey, full of lots of opportunities for healing, dealing with the past and growing in Him.

Seminary is something I've had stirring in my heart for a long while, and now is the season of seeing things in my life come full circle. God has perfect timing~ When I left for YWAM over 30 years ago, I hadn't considered going the formal route of training as women at my church weren't encouraged in that way. Over the years, I've thought I'd like to fill in the gaps in my education. I'm thrilled to be accepted into Asbury Theological Seminary.

I have prayerfully picked Asbury and it definitely feels like the right fit for me. My classes begin February 3. I am trying to raise $7,000. for the first year of training, believing the rest will come through financial aid.
