Selina's Road to Independence

15 years ago, on the cusp of my graduation from college, I began experiencing trouble with my eye sight.  What started as a couple of doctors appointments and tests has turned into me losing complete eyesight in my left eye and further complications in my right eye. I have worked so hard to deal with the ever changing prognosis and health of my eyes and what my blindness comes to mean while navigating this world.
It has been a long road since then, it has been difficult and arduous and complicated and confusing. But throughout the ever winding and changing path I have had stepping stones that help me gain independence and self confidence. Some of these stepping stones are people and some are tools. Each assists in their own way and helps me live a life that is full and where I can rely on my own self.
