Hi I am Selina's aunt, so selina was originally diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma March 13,2016. She went through months of chemotherapy and radiation treatment. She stayed the spunky little 3/4 year old that she was at the time and she beat it. We were so excited. However in January of 2017 we found out it was back. So we went through more chemotherapy and a very invasive surgery to remove her right eye along with the muscles and tendons to make sure everything was gone and she was once again cancer free. Well on march 5,2020 we got the gut wrenching call that her tumor was back. Selina is now a spunky, sassy,sweet 7year old who just got to go to public school for the first time, and she has made so many new friends. We are asking for financial assistance to help her mom pay for gas, food and other expenses as she will be traveling from nacogdoches to houston on a regular basis now. Rhabdomyosarcoma, or RMS, is an aggressive and highly malignant form of cancer that develops from skeletal (striated) muscle cells that have failed to fully differentiate. It is generally considered to be a disease of childhood, as the vast majority of cases occur in those below the age of 18.
