Selina Skinner's Medical Fund
Donation protected
Hi Everyone, thank you for reading!!!
I am Selina's next door neighbor, Karen Walker. The picture on the front is Selina Skinner, and so is the picture you see below. (Counting your blessings yet?)
During a very hard 2 plus years fight against lung cancer, Selina is now a double amputee. This is Selina, now, our friend, co-worker, neighbor, family, etc... Amazing what a couple of weeks can do to a person.
This was not caused by the cancer treatment, so far as they can tell. She has been stable in her fight against lung cancer for a year, which is wonderful news! But, the reality of her situation changed quickly and now Selina needs our financial support, prayers and good thoughts.
How You Can Help
All monies raised will be used to help pay Selina's medical bills and for her ongoing medical care, (which right now, someone has to be with her 24/7).
With little to no warning, Selina went to the hospital because she was having some blueness in her left hand a a very small amount in her left toes. After being transferred to UT Southwestern from Dallas Presby, she under-went her first surgery in which they removed her left foot. Her body was throwing blood clots. Blood clots are the reason Selina is now a double amputee. The Doctor's think they have the blood clots under control.
Within a matter of weeks, life as Selina knew it, ended; and she began a new life, as a double amputee.
While in the hospital, she was unable to attend to any bills. So they are now playing catch up, plus have the added expense of thousands and thousands of dollars of new medical expenses.

Why Funds Are Needed
Selina needs financial help and she needs it now.
Every day the bills continue to grow, with PT (pain and torture as her daughter, Shelley, calls it) and OT (other torture, again, as Shelley calls it) Wound Care doctors, the prosthetic man, the nurse, the oncologist, the surgeon who removed her legs, the plastic surgeon, all are appointments she must make during the week. The next Surgery is scheduled for the 17th of this month, to remove her left pinkie finger. She will have to do physical therapy for, no telling how long.
Just imagine right now, please, that your legs were all of the sudden gone, and you are wheel-chair dependant! Scary thought, right?
They have already had all these medical bills, plus having to pay for making her house wheel-chair friendly. Boggles the mind, doesn't it?
Selina and her family will be so thankful for every single dollar that is donated! Thankful for every single prayer that is said! It will help Selina in her fight to survive. It will let her concentrate on healing and learning how to live now and take her mind off of the rising stack of medical bills that arrive daily.
Please, if you can give, 100% of this money will go straight to Selina, not to me! If you can give a little, every dollar helps and will be greatly appreciated! If you can do more, that too will be appreciated! If you can't, please say a prayer and share Selina's page. Thank you for whatever you can do!
Selina became my next door neighbor almost 4 years ago. What a great neighbor she has been. I first noticed her mowing my yard after she had worked all day! She is a truly special person! We became instant friends. I love her like a sister.
Again, thank you for reading!
