My name is Ahmed Altahrawi. I am a 27 year old intern doctor. I was volunteering non-stop & non-paid in the emergency department of Alaqsa Hospital of dair albalah, in middle of the strip, and after that in the paediatric emergency room of abo yousef alnajjar in rafah, south of the strip sine the beginning back in October.

Today i find myself in a challenging situation amidst the ongoing disaster, where I urgently need your help. Firstly, I am facing a substantial un-official fee imposed by the Egyptian border authorities to be able to leave. This fee is a significant barrier for me to access essential medical treatment for my keratoconus, a condition that has left my right eye completely blurred and my left eye with slightly reduced vision. The only hope to stop the slow deterioration and reversing this condition's effects on my vision lies in undergoing corneal cross-linking surgery and getting special lenses and glasses after the surgery.

Unfortunately, the one and only ophthalmology hospital in the north of the strip was demolished, and the costs associated with this surgery in Egypt are beyond my current means. Secondly, the situation has depleted my family's savings, which were intended to support my future medical specialization in the UK.
