Selfless for Savanna
Donation protected
To our family, friends, community and those from afar who are able to help in anyway, we are reaching out to ask support for our family member and amazing human being Savanna Clausen (Maddock) and our brother Thomas Clausen.
Newly wedded couple Tom and Sav just celebrated the birth of their precious little boy George on March 2,2024. Savanna, who had previously suffered enough with her prior miscarriage and stillborn birth of their first son Gabriel, should be solely focusing and enjoying the next chapter of motherhood with her husband and son.
Unfortunately life isn't always fair. Shortly after giving birth to George, Sav started feeling some pain in her chest. She consulted her doctor and after receiving her exams was diagnosed with Primary Mediastinal B-Cell Lymphoma. Instead of enjoying her motherhood she has a new battle to conquer first. Cancer.
For the next 6 months Sav, Tom and George will have to travel back and forth from Summerland to Vancouver General Hospital where she will have to stay for a substantial amount of time for her chemotherapy treatments. Sav who is currently on maternity leave and Tom who was in his Carpentry apprenticeship training will be faced with some large financial stresses in the coming months and extended future. Going from formula to diapers and now compounded by medical expenses, travel and accommodations these two will need help in whatever form they can get to help shoulder the burden of costs. To top it all off Tom is now dealing with structural and water damage on their home which he has taken upon himself to fix to make it a safe place for his wife and son.
Any donation, big or small, will help immensely so please spare what you can for Sav and her family. We want to see her prioritize her health and recovery so she can return home to focus on what matters, which is being there for her family and pursuing the joy that being a new mother brings.
