SelfBeliefCreative is a new business designed to tackle the stigma around mental health and create change at both a community and government level. There are two ways I will be doing this. The first is working with high school students to talk about the ripple effect of suicide and deliver the messages; "There's no shame in seeking help" and "There's always someone who cares about you."
This will be achieved through personal testimony and interactive workshops.
The second is community engagement. This will be achieved by running community projects. The first of which will be interviewing members of the public to find out about their personal experiences with the mental health system, both good and bad. The idea of this is to gather evidence about the gap in the mental health system to create change at a government level.
Due to the nature of the business a lot of the finances will come from donations and grants. The funds raised from here will go towards purchasing African drums and art supplies for the high school workshops.
