UK BLACK BUSINESS MENTORING SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Black Business Scholarship Fund (Not for Profit)

-
We need your help to help black owned businesses. The three major reasons Black Owned businesses fail. 1) Lack of Knowledge 2) Lack of Capital 3) Lack of Visibility !

-

We aim to help with these issues via this mentoring scholarship fund. We have created the Self Made Black Business Mentoring Scholarship Fund to enable us to help more black owned business owners succeed. The fund will cover the cost of mentorship for 6 months and the cost will be 50% subsidised by us to ensure we can help as many black businesses as possible. Our aim would be to document the journey that these business owners go on. We will also provide these business with funding lines and help with branding, marketing, personal branding, sales, brand protection, appointment setting, streams of income and social media sales strategy just to name a few.

-

Our Experience as Mentors:   We have been providing mentoring and consultancy services for over 14 years collectively and we have had immense success amongst our mentees and clients. As a result of our mentorship our mentees have had their dreams become a reality; establishing sustainable businesses, increased turnover significantly (some exceeding a million in revenue) and some have raised over £10k in crowdfunding as recently as this month . We want to be able to help more black business owners to get the mentorship that they require to get their business or business idea to the next level. There isn’t a shortage of business ideas in the black community but we do have an issue with is visibility, credibility, marketing and growth. These are certainly areas that we can help with and we have proven this time and time again in our existing community. Change in racial division comes in a number of ways, one such change in the struggle is economic. We need to create more thriving businesses and more success stories that can be used to creative a positive narrative about the contributions we make to the economy. We need to have more ‘skin in the game’ to enable us to have more say.

Ways You Can Help:

There are three ways you can help: 1) You can help by donating to the fund to help business owners 2) You can help by sharing this fund widely via social media and in your what’s app groups 3) You can help by donating and sharing!

Every contribution counts and helps us to help entrepreneurs to succeed, if we change even one persons life the knock on affect for the community and their family is long lasting.
-

Pay It Forward:

The plan is to support them for 6 months and once the business is successful/financially stable in 6-12 months, we want them to pay the cost of their mentorship back into the fund to enable someone else to go through the programme. And so on..

The money raised will go into a community interest company (non profit) to ensure it is used for this aim.

-

Partners:
We would also like to partner with other people who wish to contribute to the success of these businesses – including logo designers, web designers, coaches, accountants, solicitors etc. If you think you have the skill to be able to help a business with its initial set up needs and want to ‘help us, to help them’ please get in touch.
