Self fund my humanitarian trip to Camobia

Hello, my name is Rachel and I have set up this GoFundMe page on behalf of my daughter Rebecca, specifically for her to be able to cover the costs of a 4 week humanitarian trip to Cambodia. Rebecca is currently in Year 9 at secondary school and is 13 years old.

Rebecca has this message for you ....

I was hoping to grab your attention about what I am doing while in Cambodia, why I am doing it, and why I need your help.

In July 2026 I will be flying out to Cambodia with school and staying there for 4 weeks. The trip will not be a holiday but a working and educational trip!

Cambodia is one of the poorest countries in the world. There is an immense lack of hygiene with 75% of the population lacking access to clean and safe water. There is a lack of employment, seasonal food shortages and increasing poverty especially in rural areas.

During my stay I will be working alongside local people on incredibly important sustainable humanitarian projects such as constructing water storage pots, improving infrastructure at the local school, refurbishing community buildings and much more. While there I hope to help as many people struggling in poverty as I can and hopefully improve the quality of life for many people. This trip will take me out of my comfort zone and I fully expect it to be an eye opener to live alongside communities experiencing such poor living conditions.

This opportunity will be a once in a lifetime experience and as part of the trip, we are encouraged to fundraise the cost ourselves, teaching us important life skills, such as money management, problem solving and event planning, hence the reason for my GoFundMe page. In addition to my GoFundMe page, I will also be arranging fund raising events throughout the coming months to raise further funds.
