Self employed carpenter doesn't want to sell my gear....
Donation protected
Hi. I'm Chris. I'm a hard worker who's worked all my life from 11 years old. I've worked PAYE for most my life and never claimed anything, even sick pay. I retrained at 26 after bowel cancer in 2006. In 2017 retrained again to do my dream job, a carpenter. Bought all my own gear with every spare penny for many years built my business up. Rent a workshop, built that up bit by bit.
Recently, 3 years ago, due to my uc and bowel cancer, needed a liver transplant and waited patiently for 3 years for "the call". I worked 6 or 7 days a week every week to keep my family housed and bills paid as things as we all know, got harder with covid and the cost of living, and people tightening their belts. I kept working right up to the day of "the donor call" often praised by my medical team wondering how I did it in my "condition"
I tried to save in the mean time for the day but this was too hard with not much spare money.
Family and friends have stepped up to help me so far which I'm blessed with great friends and family, but without the government's help I'm looking to the future and it's worrying.
It's not a sob story, just want people to know i tried hard to be better....
I didn't want to set this up but I'm swallowing my pride and doing it for my wife. She needs help too as she's on less than minimal wage and a student and my carer for 6 months whilst I recover......
Oh well, just £500 would be a huge help. If I could get there, that would be amazing.
Thank you for any help.
