Developed at Leeds Conservatoire and premiered at Leeds Theatre Festival 2024, Self Censored is a solo drag cabaret and contemporary theatre piece exploring autism, masculinity, and masking through original songs and live instrumentation — asking when self-censorship stops protecting you and starts erasing you.

We’re thrilled to be heading to the Edinburgh Fringe, making our home on the Royal Mile at Greenside’s Riddle’s Court! from the 7th-15th of August!

The Edinburgh Fringe has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up attending every year and first performed there through youth theatre. The bold, surprising and deeply personal work I encountered there shaped me as a performer and continues to inform the kind of theatre I want to create. Bringing Self Censored to the Fringe feels like a full-circle moment — and an opportunity to be the kind of artist I once watched from the audience.

Why we need your support:

Self Censored is being produced as an independent, self-funded Fringe project. Everyone involved is contributing their time, energy, and creativity because they believe in the show and the message it shares. Any profit the show makes will be shared among the team helping bring it to life.
