Hello Wonderful Friends!

Maria wanted to thank you all again for all your support during her cancer jOuRneY and give you all an update!

Maria's cancer jOuRneY is reaching another milestone. Boob 2.0 - better than before - Coming April 20th 2023! She's waited 14 months since her mastectomy to get her new implants. The day is finally here! Send her good vibes and speedy healing!

She’s on estrogen blockers - daily pills - that she will take for 5 - 10 years working to keep her cancer free forever! She finished her 17 Herceptin treatments back in October and her surgeon says she'll be back at work in less than a month this time.

Thank you all again for your contributions over these last almost 2 years. There's never going back to normal, but if you've seen her new salt and pepper curly locks lately - she's thankful for a new look, loads of wisdom, and a new lease on life!

Hello Wonderful Friends!

Maria wanted to thank all contributors to her GoFundMe and give you all an update.

She has been slowly healing from her double mastectomy surgery in February. A few post op setbacks mean she is still not completely healed yet. But we are hopeful that by June she will be back to fighting form! Her mental health has also been top of mind, as she struggles to process all that she has gone through to date.

Some great news in her treatment journey is not needing radiation because her she had a complete response to her 5 months of chemotherapy and most importantly, her post surgery pathology came back 100% cancer free! She continues to receive immunotherapy until November of this year and will soon be starting endocrine therapy which she may be on for 5+ years after this. And of course, there will be another surgery in 6 months – 1 year from now. Her hair is growing back in all the places and although she doesn’t look like her old self – she is open to the years ahead as this new woman she has become! She and her doctors agreed that not going back to work for the remainder of the school year and concentrating on healing is best. 

As most of you know, this month of May is her birthday – she would love to reach her GoFundMe goal to see her through the summer comfortably. So send a message, wish her well, share this GoFundMe campaign one last time and make our gal feel great and supported on the rest of her journey!

Hi Maria’s A-Team, Family and Fabulous Friends!!!

As you know, our warrior friend Maria has a journey ahead kicking the shit out of breast cancer and with some extra love and support towards her Healing, Wellness, Self Care and of course Financial Aid, a little fundraising will make the journey all the smoother.

In July, Maria was diagnosed with Stage 3 HER 2+ Breast Cancer. The prognosis is very good for this kind of cancer, but the treatment regimens are aggressive and exhausting. Because of this, Maria is taking medical leave from her work and only receiving a portion of her regular income through short term disability. She must also take extended breaks from auditioning as she manages her journey, her body changes, and her mental health. Maria gave us permission to start a go fund me campaign this Fall and is now becoming comfortable sharing her journey with more supporters. She has a long way to go to into 2022 and beyond. We all know our gal has always rocked her way through her life as an independent woman, rarely if ever asking for help. But now more than ever a little help will go a long way. 

Maria's estimated journey is approximately 15 months including chemotherapy, surgery, potentially radiation and more. Go Maria Go!!! So let's get started with a Healing Fund to brighten her days and make it so she can focus on healing and treating herself kindly and less on where her next meal or rent are coming from.
