Selena's Medical Expenses

Hello, my name is Benito Reyes and I have organized this GoFundMe to help my daughter Selena Reyes with her medical expenses during this unexpected medical setback.

This GoFundMe was created to help Selena with medical expenses to help cover costs associated from two separate surgeries resulting from Anemia, Edema, and Liver complications.  Selena had to spend almost two weeks alone in the hospital because of Covid-19 restrictions receiving several blood transfusions to help replace much needed red blood cells.  Normal adult hemoglobin values are generally 12 to 16 for women.  Selena was at a 3 when she was admitted to the hospital the first time.  After bringing her hemoglobin level to 7, Doctors performed her first surgery.  Selena was released after a few days in the hospital.  She was readmitted to the hospital a few days later due to complications resulting from the first surgery because her hemoglobin level once again dropped to a life-threatening level.  Thankfully, the second surgery was successful and Selena was released following a short stay at the hospital. She was prescribed several medications to help restore her back to health.  Selena was out of work for a little over two months recovering at home and was finally given the green light to return to work in October.  Although the recovery she has made so far has been nothing short of amazing, she still has a long way to go.  Hopefully she makes a complete recovery so that she may return to normalcy.

Selena is dedicated to serving the public as an 9-1-1 Operator helping countless people.  For close to 6 years she has been the voice on the other end of the line that has been there to get us the help that we need and now that voice needs our help.  Please consider helping Selena during her time of need.  Any little bit helps and will be greatly appreciated.  If you are unable to donate financially, I ask that you join her in prayer for a complete recovery or by sharing this with your friends and family.  All funds raised will be used solely for medical bills and expenses that are not covered by medical insurance.  Her out of pocket medical expenses so far after insurance are nearing $8,000 and as we all know, there are always other charges that somehow seem to appear out of nowhere.  Selena is not one to ask for financial help but her medical bills have amounted and she has used up her savings to pay her medical expenses.  My hope is to help obtain at least half of that 8k amount so that Selena can focus on her treatment/recovery and not on the financial stress that she has been facing during this difficult time.  Thank you for any and all help and thank you for taking the time to read this.
