Selena Gonzalez & Family
Donation protected
My name is Veronica and I am Selena's sister. First and foremost, thank you for reading our story and considering donating. My family, the Gonzalez family, has been hit hard these past few years. My husband and I are sergeants in the U.S. Army, and every time we've come back to Nevada it's been due to loss. In 2019, we lost my father, Efrain Gonzalez, unexpectedly. In 2020, my mother, Lisa Gonzalez, died of a heart attack.
The youngest of her 7 siblings, Selena Gonzalez passed on June 15, 2022 at Renown Hospital. She was the precious baby of the family. She had just turned 18 this year, which is a very big deal considering the brain tumor that almost took her from us when she was 2. But cancer comes back sometimes. Cassandra, the eldest of our mom's kids, became her guardian after our mom passed. She found Selena in midst of a seizure about a week and a half before Selena's death. Prior to this, there were no symptoms. Tests discovered that Selena had cancer again. Only this time, it was in her brain, her liver, her colon, and it was continuing to spread elsewhere. It was already stage four. There was nothing the doctors could do except provide meds for her liver pain. Her high school held a graduation ceremony for her at the hospital, where she accepted her diploma with a smile. Her siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family attended. We are so proud of her accomplishment. Despite losing her parents, despite her learning disabilities, she did it.
We are thankful that her suffering didn't last long. We are distressed that she had to be taken at her young age; we are grieving. She is the strongest, most pure, most loving, and most beautiful soul that God could ever have at his side. She watches over us now, along with Mama and Papa.
Donations are for her medical expenses and her memorial services. She deserves the best memorial, with pink flowers and butterflies galore. Thank you for any support you are able to contribute.
