On October 15, 2016, a truly unfortunate event happened to my best friend and brother, Sekou Black.  Sekou was in car accident that left him in a critical condition.  Medical sources informed that the tremendous impact of the accident left him with heavy musculoskeletal injuries with a long recovery period that awaits him. He is currently undergoing hours of surgery through an induced coma.  In the meantime, I understand the huge financial hardship this leaves on Sekou and his 7 year-old son, Jeremiah.  Sekou's immediate family and I have agreed on raising this fund for his recovery and care and to collect funds as soon as possible to efficiently deliver the proceeds directly to his medical needs and recovery. Sekou Black not only made a difference in my life as a best friend, but also left a huge impact to many people and communities he's helped with his background in health and social services to the disadvantaged and those with disabilities.  This is why raising this fund means so much to his family and his community.  We are deeply thankful to anyone and everyone who can contribute towards this fund.  It is now our time and duty to help our brother as he endures this great tribulation that will forever change his life.
