Friends and Family of JoJo Yabui!

As you may already know, Jojo recently suffered a seizure at the gym. Many tests were run in the ER and resulted in the discovery of a brain tumor. Two days later he underwent an urgent craniotomy to remove it.

The surgeon says he was ‘aggressive’ in removing the tumor. We are waiting for pathology results to tell us specifically what kind of tumor he is fighting and results from screenings to determine if the surgeon was able to remove it entirely.

As Jojo recovers from his surgery, he is unable to work or drive. We are waiting for follow-up diagnostics – pathology and new screenings – to determine the next steps. We are anticipating the possibility of additional surgeries, chemotherapy, and/or radiation.

This diagnosis has turned his family's world upside down and, while we are doing everything we can to be supportive, the financial burden will be overwhelming. He does not have insurance, and the costs for surgery, an ICU stay, post-operative care, and upcoming aftercare are immense and far beyond what his family can afford.

Jojo is many things: son, brother, father, and friend. It is hard to put into words what he means to each of us, but I don’t think I am overstating it when I say that he is always a light and guide to anyone he comes in contact with.
