Hello,
We (my brother and I) are currently trying to raise funds for our 8th grade field trip to Washington DC that takes place in June 2023 (as that would be around the time when we would be finishing 8th grade). As there are two of us, the cost is doubled - approximately $6,000 for both of us.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that, while costly, could provide lasting memories and experiences that we might not get anywhere else, especially not in the classroom. We also would get a chance to study history up close and explore some of the historical and relevant sites that shaped the United States as a country. It would also be the first field trip we would take in several years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so it would mean a lot to us if we're able to go.
As it is a 5 -day trip, funds will be used for lodging, food, airfare, land transportation, and day-to-day activities, such as visiting memorials -Jefferson Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and FDR Memorial. We would also visit other historical sites such as the National Archives (where documents such as the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are kept), the White House, and Mount Vernon (where George Washington, the first US president, lived). Museums are also included in the itinerary (the Holocaust Museum and the Smithsonian Museum). One place we are eager to go to is the National Zoo, which is home to several cool animals and two giant pandas on lease from China.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting our wish to take part in this educational opportunity.
Sincerely,
Leana and Theodore de Leon
