Seguin Police Department Explorers Post #830
The Seguin Police Department Explorer program is intended to show youth between the ages of 14 and 20 and at a 9th grade level or higher the many career opportunities available in law enforcement. All area youth interested in a law enforcement career may apply.
Program training areas include, but are not limited to, patrol tactics, forensics, communications and criminal investigations. Exploring provides experiences to aid young people in their development in becoming responsible and caring adults. The program teaches key skills such as leadership, ethical insight and decision-making.
Explorers can also become involved in special events, participate in a ride-along program, travel to different places around the state and nation to participate in competitions and receive scholarships.
The Explorer program allows participants to:
Develop potential contacts that may broaden employment options.
Boost self-confidence and experience success at school and work.
Develop physical and mental fitness.
Experience positive social interaction.
Encourage the skill and desire to help others.
Gain a keen respect for the basic rights of others.
Help make ethical choices.
Acquire leadership skills necessary to fulfill ones responsibilities in society.
We are asking for your help with donations which will go towards uniforms, duty gear, competitions and other equipment that is necessary for a successful program.
One of the most valuable things in the City of Seguin’s future is our youth. Together we can make a difference that will continue to shape the landscape of our city for decades to come. For more information on the Explorers program, please email or contact Detective Joe Brown at (830) [phone redacted] or [email redacted]
