The greatest tragedy a parent can experience is the loss of a child. Especially when the death is the result of a sudden, tragic event, the searing pain of loss is unimaginable and torment the parents and family of the child with unanswerable questions that result from it.  

On the morning of March 31st , 2020 Dorel Mordechai Zecharia z”l,14,  while riding his bicycle was involved in a car accident in Kefar Saba - Israel and succumbed to his wounds on April 2nd.

As an active and joyful child, Dorel had his whole life ahead of him with a promising future. Dorel was doing his best every day to help others and worked as a delivery boy when he was not attending school. At the time of his accident that took his life, he was delivering groceries to the people who could not leave their homes due to the coronavirus pandemic.

To help the family with some level of comfort we have decided to raise funds and  have a Sefar Torah written in his honor.

The dedication of a new Sefer Torah is typically celebrated in a synagogue with great joy.  Although bittersweet, by helping us dedicate such a priceless gift in Dorel Zecharia’s honor we can all share in such a unique mitzva and continue to keep his memory alive.
