As most of you know l was involved in a serious car accident a few weeks back. My parents and l are so very blessed to be alive. As time goes on l am learning more details and l cannot express my gratefulness to G-d as well as to all of you for your prayers. We are healthy and mending. And l am also going to miss that giant old car that actually played a big part in keeping us alive.
I am blessed in other ways as well. I have a stable job to go back to, good health insurance, and some short term disability. I need all of those as l was told yesterday l will need surgery and will be out even longer than anticipated.
I have held off on asking for help because it is the last thing l want to do. Like many, probably most, Americans, l was one unanticipated emergency away from financial disaster.
I drove an old car so l did not have uninsured driver insurance. Hard lesson learned. Financially speaking, my short term disability does not even cover my rent. I also am without a vehicle to get back to work once l get released. In the great scheme of things it's only a few weeks before l will be back to work. But it will be a while to get back on track. I have not as yet paid my December rent. It will be another three weeks before l have it and by then not only will l have late fees but also January's rent will be due.
I have put much thought and prayer into this and decided that l could not, in good conscience, simply ask for money without repaying it. I cannot do that. But my home as well as my livelihood are in jeopardy if l don't do something. My intention is to pay back all donations although l cannot give an exact timeframe of when that will be done. Depending on the amount it could take a year or more. But it will be done! So l need for donors to leave their information and not give anonymously so l can find them.
I have come up with an amount to see me through two months as well as a dependable, used cash car.
My friends, thank you so much for your kind words, for keeping me company during my convalescence. It means so much to me. If you are unable to help please know that each and every prayer that is lifted is the very BEST donation!
