Seeking Support after Losing Everything to an Online Scam

Hello, my name is Aarjav and I am writing this with a hopeful heart, asking for your support during an incredibly painful chapter of my friend’s life.

Shortly after moving to Canada, she found herself in a tough place far from home, financially strained, and urgently looking for a job to survive. She had sent out hundreds of job applications and was willing to take any opportunity that came her way. One day, she received a message offering remote work. She had no idea that she was about to fall into a fraud that would change everything.

At first, the job looked legitimate. They offered training and walked her through the steps. Everything seemed to be going smoothly. Then, they started requesting small deposits, saying it was part of the process to access the money she had supposedly earned. As she followed their instructions, her money was stuck, and they kept demanding more payments. She trusted them, hoping she would eventually get back what she had put in. However, she never did and ended up losing over $25,000.

What makes this even more heartbreaking is that this money wasn’t just her savings. A significant portion of it was borrowed from her parents back in India, who put everything they could together in hopes of giving their daughter a better future. Now, not only is that money gone, but they are also left with the heavy burden of this loss. With the university fee deadline approaching, we are left with no other option but to reach out for help. That is why we are raising these funds—to help her stay in school, to survive this crisis, and to rebuild what has been lost.

This loss has been devastating. As someone living with diabetes, the stress took a major toll on her health. Her blood sugar levels spiked dangerously, and she spiraled into a state of anxiety and depression. She had to seek medical support just to cope with the emotional and physical effects. She filed a report with the authorities and contacted the bank, but since it was an internet-based fraud, there was little they could do.

Today, she is still trying to heal. She is a full-time university student working two jobs to stay afloat. Rebuilding her life has been a slow and painful journey. Even now, she finds it hard to trust or feel safe while navigating everyday life. The emotional and financial scars are still fresh.

I am reaching out to ask for your help. I am hoping to raise this fund to recover her from this devastating experience so she can regain some stability and continue her education and life here with hope for the future.

If you are able to contribute, your help—no matter the amount—will mean everything to her. In addition, if you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page. Your share could prevent someone else from going through the same nightmare. She knows firsthand how heartbreaking this is, and I would not wish it on anyone.

Thank you deeply for taking the time to read her story. Your support and compassion will give her the strength to keep going.

With sincere gratitude,
Aarjav
