Wounded in Mexico – I Need Your Help to Rebuild

Hello to those who see this. In November 2024, Vance and Jason were driving to Rocky Point, Mexico, for the Rocky Point 4x4 Jeep Jam event when they noticed they were being followed through the desert. Jason, a former Marine veteran, said his military training kicked in as they realized they were being ambushed by locals just across the border. They were chased for miles through the Mexican desert by multiple vehicles and assailants while under fire with semi-automatic weapons until the Jeep Gladiator they were traveling in finally gave out. This brutal attack resulted in severe injuries: Vance had a bullet graze, cuts and impaled shrapnel, while Jason had to be airlifted and rushed into emergency brain surgery and was placed in the ICU for weeks due to being shot in the head and shoulder. This all occurred around the holidays resulting in their families having to spend the holidays by their hospital besides worrying if their lives would ever be the same. After months of hospital beds/food, numerous surgeries, intense rehabilitation therapy and the help of some amazing doctors and nurses, they have both survived; however, they are now dealing with the devastating aftermath that this ordeal has bestowed upon their everyday lives. This is where you can come in and help them regain some semblance of their lives back. 

 Mexico and USA insurances have denied all vehicle claims. Vance still has to pay the loan on the Jeep Gladiator that is totaled and has had to incur legal fees to challenge this. Jason is still requiring daily assistance and live-in care, hasn’t been able to return to work due to the effects of his injuries and may never regain the ability to fully see and hear normally ever again. The PTSD from the trauma that this tragedy has inflicted will be an ongoing battle moving forward for both. Medical bills are piling up and short term disability only covers so much. They can desperately use your help to see a light at end of this tunnel. Every dollar counts!
