Seeking Help with Medical Expenses for Grandson

Hi, My name is Maria Maldonado, I am seeking help as my grandson is currently in the hospital. I am the sole guardian of my grandson and I have not been able to attend work to insure the health and safety of my grandson.

On January 8th, there was a concerning incident involving my grandson falling ill. After seeking medical attention at Copley Hospital, he underwent a test that turned out negative, though the facility lacked the necessary equipment. Subsequently, they visited Mercy Hospital for another test, which also yielded a negative result. Despite the negative findings, he was experiencing symptoms like fever and headaches, faced a challenging situation. An X-ray on the chest showed no issues, but the one on the head revealed the presence of fluids in the brain. Urgent action was required, prompting a call to the Children's Hospital Emergency Room, where a team of 10 or more doctors and nurses awaited for immediate surgery. The procedure involved removing a portion of the skull to drain the fluids, with a prior warning about potential seizures and infections. Following a second surgery to address a nose infection and clean up the face, the patient experienced multiple seizures and brain meningeal issues, resulting in partial paralysis. However, with ongoing therapy, there's been some improvement in movement in the hand and leg. He is a 12-year-old who enjoys playing Fortnite and Roblox. He faces a challenging road to recovery. Financial assistance is sought for medical expenses, with plans to replace the skull in three months, and in the meantime, he wears a special helmet as walking remains a current challenge. We look forward to his recovery and progress with regaining his motor functions and look forward to his future.
