October Update: My starting my new job was delayed a week but did happen on September 28th. So far, it's going well, and I'm learning it quickly. But medical bills and utilities remain significant challenges, especially as the delay cost me a week's pay through no fault of mine or my new employer. So I am asking for donations to help bridge the gap while I get started and pay down my medical bills. Please donate or share if you feel comfortable doing so.
My health has improved, and my heart is finally back in a normal rhythm.
I have a new job offer and will be starting next week. However, helping a family member out in an emergency and others in my family helping that person out has left me with a large budget hole. Therefore, I am asking for help filling it if you can do so within your comfort level. If not, please do share because it all helps.
Further Update: I spent the last half of June in the hospital. I'm out now and feeling much better, but I have not been able to pay for my Victoza due to its cost. I have lost a lot of fluid weight and I thank everyone who has contributed for their help. Please help if you feel comfortable doing so, as it makes a major difference.
Update: The Contract job I have been working on has ended. So I would ask for any help people can give to help me pay my bills while I find another role. I shouldn't need long to find another position, but I would be grateful for this help.
My name is Kurt Akemann. I'm 44 and have Type 2 Diabetes. I take Victoza and Jardiance to control my blood sugar and Libra sensors to monitor my sugar levels. My health insurance is also $488 per month, so I'm hoping people can help me by funding my medication and insurance. In the past I've gotten help from some people close to me, but they aren't able to help right now. I expect to be able to pay my insurance later in the year as my job continues to improve, but help bridging the gap would be greatly appreciated.
Any leftover funds will be used to pay bills, I won't use your donation to live it up. But being able to pay for these medications would greatly help me and let me keep improving my health. Thank you.
