Hi, I'm Magda Fox and I'm originally from Poland, but now live in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm setting up this page to raise money to help my sister Daria who lives in Poland who is working to help thousands of mothers and children arriving daily from Ukraine. The need is crushing and anything you can give will go directly to refugees who need urgent help the most.
Hungry, cold, devastated and nowhere to go. Daria has been working tirelessly and spending her own money to help people in a desperate situation. Charities are mobilizing but not fast enough, so we are working to help her and the people on the front lines.
Many people are walking 50 miles or more with children, and arrive with nothing. They need food, medicine, and shelter immediately. Daria spends her days scouring stores looking for supplies, working to find people housing, and on the front lines working directly with refugees to help with basic needs.
There is a ton of information below along with pictures from the front lines. Anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated!

It is on every television station and newsfeed, that Putin has invaded the proud, peaceful nation of Ukraine and has been unleashing an all-out assault on the Texas-sized, sovereign, democratic nation causing nearly 3M people, mostly women and children to flee the country. Most have come to Poland with little more than the clothes their backs.
All men of Ukraine, 18-60, are obligated to defend their homeland. MOST women and children – MILLIONS OF THEM – are fleeing the ongoing war, as refugees, to the nearest surrounding countries - namely Poland.
I set up this page because my sister’s family lives in Poland. And she is making me so proud!
As thousands of people arrive in Poland every day, my sister is one of the people who is working tirelessly on the front lines, in addition to being a working mom herself. Since the invasion she has been working up to 20 hours a day, to find housing, food, medicine and other essentials for a growing population of refugees.
They are arriving scared, alone (having often left their husbands, brothers, and fathers behind), in shock, shell-shocked, with children of all ages in tow, or their elderly family members or neighbors! Try to imagine having to run from the home where you’ve lived your entire life because some crazy tyrant wants your land ... and he has the power to take it.
You look around. What MUST you take? Most belongings will not make the list. Some water and foodstuffs, maybe. You put a couple extra layers of clothes on. As you grab your kid, go out the door and head for the road, you remember the sweet old lady who lives next door who babysits for you when you’re in a pinch. So, you take an hour and bundle her up to go, too.
While they are getting help from the Red Cross, government and other charities, the large organizations have been slow to mobilize leaving a MASSIVE need that people like Daria are working around the clock to fill. Daria said to me, “We don’t have any more tears to shed with these families, but we can still do something for them!”
It could be months before humanitarian organizations are organized to help in a meaningful way. Yet, it is winter in Poland now; it is below freezing a lot of the time, and very wet. Poland has opened their borders, but they don’t have the social infrastructure to place the families or meet their needs . The people of Poland, like my sister, are willing to help, but they cannot buy everything that is needed.
Some desperate parents are calling every organization in Poland to ask: “Where can I send my kids to keep them safe? My sister had heard, from several devastated parents that have already arrived in Poland, stories of how an unmarked car pulled up to them just before the border entrance and kidnapped their children ... right out of their arms!
The need is great, so ANY DONATION IS APPRECIATED, EVERY DOLLAR HELPS!
My sister and her family and friends in Poland are collecting clothing, food, pots and pans, toilet paper, heating lamps, tents, blankets, and ANYTHING to help the Ukrainians survive and to know they’re not alone. Families are housing as many people as they can.
Immediate needs are at the top of the list. If we cannot find a place to locate them, we need to buy tents, blankets, heaters, portable cooking things, personal hygiene stuff, and food ... and anything needed to survive.
My sister is a very honorable person, and she doing everything for free, while raising her daughter and working. As an accountant, she is keeping track of every penny and I will continue to share updates with you, as we go.
I have created an email address where you can also email me with questions: ([email redacted])
If YOU are looking for YOUR family that has migrated from Ukraine to Poland, MY family on the ground there is happy to help as much as they can. They can assist in translating, help to fill out immigration-type paperwork, and either offer or help them to find transportation and sleeping arrangements. And they’ll definitely make sure they’re fed.
In short, my sister is offering to help YOU to help your people ... or to do their best.
They are located in the city of Wroclaw.
Thank you so much, everyone! Really!
