My name is Anastasia Kashyna am writing this because I am at a breaking point. I have spent my entire life fighting, but right now, I feel like I am losing the strength to overcome the obstacles in my path.
My struggle began when I was only three years old and was left without parents. I grew up having to be strong and fend for myself. Then came the war in Ukraine, which forced my family to flee and start over in Canada under the CUAET program.
We arrived with hope. My husband found a job in construction, I started working as a cleaner, and our children settled into school and daycare. We were doing our best to build a stable life. But recently, everything fell apart.
My husband has been without work for two months, and to make matters worse, he has fallen ill right before the holidays. We have no family here to support us, no safety net to fall back on. We are now in a desperate situation where we cannot even afford to pay for our housing.
I have always been a fighter, but after a lifetime of survival—from losing my parents as a child to escaping a war—I am finding it so hard to carry this burden alone.
We are humbly asking for any help you can provide. Whether it is a small donation to help us cover our rent or simply sharing our story, we would be deeply grateful. We just want to keep a roof over our children’s heads during this difficult time.
Thank you for your kindness, your compassion, and for standing with us.
With gratitude,
Anastasia
