Greetings. My name is Kat & I’ve started this Go Fund Me to raise funds to defray mounting veterinary bills for my beloved cat, Maslow.

On Wednesday, 9/25, my roommate & I observed that Maslow seemed to be experiencing labored breathing, so we brought him up to the local emergency vet. A round of tests were done to rule out a number of diagnoses. It was postulated that he has a condition called idiopathic chylothorax & we were referred to a veterinary specialist 2 hours away to discuss possible treatments for him.

He is a candidate for thoracic duct ligation, a surgery that will run between $10,000-$13,000 on top of the $5,000 already accrued by the emergency visit & testing.

Because he is a happy, healthy being aside from having chylothorax, I will probably elect to bring him to the specialist for the surgery.

Maslow is a loving, integral part of our household. I, my wife, my roommate, Maslow’s tiger brother, Tomatillo, & a host of aunts & uncles all adore him & want to give him every chance.

I am the last person to ask anyone for money, so I feel weird about this, but this is much bigger than me & it’s for Maslow.

He deserves a chance at recovery & a longer life.
