My name is Laverne Roberson, and asking for help like this is not something that comes easily to me. But over the last few months, my vision has declined to the point where it is affecting every part of my daily life. I’ve been diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes, and without surgery, my eyesight will continue to worsen.

It is getting hard to enjoy the things I love doing. I have grown to love playing games, watching gamers, driving around the town late evenings with my dogs, going to musicals and dance competitions. Now all of those moments are blurry, dim, and squinting is causing me to have headaches.

My doctor says cataract surgery can restore my vision, but the cost of surgery, exams, and follow-up care is far beyond what I can afford right now.

I'm currently facing a total of around $3500, and even with insurance, the out-of-pocket expenses are overwhelming. I'm at a point where I have to reach out and ask for help.
