Seeking Help Amidst Layoffs: A June Fundraiser

I hope this message finds you well during such times. Three months ago, I was informed that my prior employer planned to layoff up to 20% of their workforce to implement budget cuts of over $900,000. Unfortunately, nonprofit organizations have been hit pretty hard this year. My position, I discovered, was unfortunately at risk. I greatly enjoyed and loved working there, but realized I needed to start a new chapter.

I have been searching for new positions in the DC area (and remotely) since. During that time, thousands of federal and nonprofit workers have been laid off, and all of us are discovering that this is one of the most difficult markets to crack in decades. Since then, I have been living on my savings, but after three months, I am afraid that my resources are increasingly restricted.

In summary, I recognize that the times are tough and I need support until I can figure out my next professional move. I am in the process of applying for permanent, fixed-term, and temporary roles, but need to buy some time.

The situation is urgent: I need to be able to make June rent, afford living costs, and pay off student loans. This is tough for me to ask since normally, I have been the one to help friends in need, but I find myself in need of support this round.

Any help is greatly appreciated, even if it's $5, 10, or 20 dollars. In raising 4k, I should be able to survive through June and possibly July, and hope to have an employment arrangement set up before the end of this month.
