Greetings. Lifelong Dead Head Malcolm Kaplan is currently undergoing chemotherapy (again), and due to the timing with the current Covid-19 crisis, he was denied not only the surgery his cancer required, but his insurance now won’t cover the chemo due to not being able to have the surgery.
“Big Mal,” who some of you may know from Grateful Dead concerts from a few decades back, was a longtime taper and always there to help out others in need. Many of my own earliest Dead show travels were with Mal, and he also put together the legendary bus 'trip' of a lifetime to the show at William & Mary College in Virginia in 1978.
Now he could really use some help with the out of pocket medical expenses he’s being faced with.
Mal’s faced quite the uphill battle with cancer since 2016, and this recent recurrence is taking quite a toll as he has no family or funds to fall back on.
If you’re able to help out in any way, your support is beyond gratefully appreciated.
Please help spread the word and thanks for reaching out your hand.
Thanks so much,
Rob Bleetstein
