Last November 1, 2017, Pepper had kidney failure which almost killed her. If we were delayed in bringing her to the Emergency Room, she wouldn't have made it. She had kidney failure due to Diabetes and according to her nephrologist, transplant is still the recommended treatment for patients with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). It has been recommended that a living donor transplant is the best-case scenario to continue living a healthy life.
At this point in her life, we are hoping to move towards a transplant while her physicians and transplant team feel that she's still medically suitable to undergo the procedure.
Again, we always felt very uncomfortable asking people for money. Like my problems were any worse than someone else's? It didn't sit well with me. But it had to be done. I can't let her go and up to this very minute, I can clearly remember the day our paths crossed.
I visited more than twenty countries via the internet during period from 2001 to 2003. Finally a friend advised me to visit the Philippines. I navigated there and found a Philippines website. I found more than 150 ladies on a local site who were seeking to meet the right man. Most of these ladies were very attractive. Some were young and had young ones.
The lady whom I selected was simply PERFECT for me in more than just a few ways. "Pepper" as her sisters and family called her, had just returned from a special "makeover" at a local mall, and, as a result, her file photo (See photo) was incredibly beautiful. Her profile said what she was seeking in a man was, "God-fearing" yet “fun-loving”, ”without children” and no desire for same.
I didn’t realize that Pepper was a mother to her two sisters' children until they were grown. She was the cook, nanny and generally in charge of housekeeping. What a Gal!
Pepper and I communicated by "Instant Messenger" for over a year and finally, in 2004, I traveled 10,000 miles to see her just to be sure that she was the right one for me. After a 13-hour exhausting flight, I arrived in Manila and called Pepper. The very next afternoon, we finally met and almost INSTANTLY fell in 100% LOVE!!!!!!
I am not a young man now. I am 75 years old. After our very happy 11th year Anniversary, I can't even fathom losing her. She is the one thing which keeps me going. In these 11 years, I have become a changed man. I am no longer selfish as I used to be for most of my past life. I think of Pepper, wherever and whenever I am awake. No matter the time or place, she is in my thoughts constantly.
Right now, Pepper is 53 years old and she does peritoneal dialysis treatments, usually seven times a week for nine hours at a time, it helps her kidneys do their job and keep her alive, but a transplant would offer her more freedom and the ability to live a longer, healthier, more normal life. A transplant would also give her chance to be able to work again which she misses a lot, more time to do the fun things she enjoys most, like spending time with her family & friends, spreading happines and love but most of all doing volunteer works for people in need.
A cherished, young life is at stake. I am knocking at your doors to kindly open your hearts for Pepper. Any donation of money, time, or love; no matter how small or large will be greatly appreciated and definitely will go a long way.
Thank you and Bless us all with good health.
