Seeking financial help for John Banner

Close family members of John Banner are seeking for help during a recent medical diagnosis.

Last Thursday, our dad was hospitalized for a severely low hemoglobin count. Blood transfusions and tests began immediately. He has been there since June 9th. After finding no signs of internal bleeding, doctors discovered a cancerous mass during a colonoscopy. They will begin surgery on Wednesday, June 15th to remove the mass, appendix, lymph nodes, and other affected organs. He will begin chemotherapy after the surgery and should be allowed to go home on Father’s Day.

As he will exhaust sick pay and vacation pay from his company, money is a looming factor over his road to recovery. His hospital visit this week might just be the beginning. We are humbly asking for any help that will possibly prolong his recovery process.

For many, John Banner was the pastor in your children’s church, whose Rule #27 may still ring a bell. For others, he may be a friend or friendly acquaintance. For his family, though, he is so many things—a rock during hard times, a shoulder to cry on, a long drawn out conversation about the beauty of life or random history facts, another (insufferable) dad joke, a warm hug…
