Move recovery

My name is Slurku, and I am a freelance artist based in Nevada. Today, I am reaching out to my community in hopes of receiving some assistance, as I am facing significant financial hardships.

Recently, I relocated to Nevada to start fresh after making the difficult decision to place my father—who I had been living with in Ohio—into assisted living due to complications from dementia. Given my circumstances, I was no longer able to provide the care he needed.

Originally, my partner of nearly 20 years was supposed to accompany me on this journey. However, on the very last day, they abandoned me—fleeing to the other side of the country after years of deception. They used me, lied to me for two years about the true state of our relationship, and left me in an empty room with all of our things packed, knowing I had no way to ship them myself. To make matters worse, they stole $100 from me before they disappeared.

With no other choice, I had to leave nearly everything behind—my clothes, my personal belongings, and all of my art supplies. Thanks to some local friends, I was able to send my work equipment, such as my PCs, but beyond that, I have almost nothing left to my name.

I am deeply grateful for the generosity I have received so far, and I wanted to update my story, as my previous description was no longer accurate. I am once again asking for any assistance I can get—particularly for a desk, an office chair, and a few other items that will allow me to resume commission work, continue my creative endeavors, and pursue remote job opportunities. My goal amount remains the same, as it would be enough to help me stay afloat for a short while.
