Seeking a Hand for Our Dear Friend Dave Proctor

I've set up this fundraiser to help Chef Dave Proctor finance his battle with cancer and his related medical costs. He was recently diagnosed with a tumor on his pancreas that the doctors are planning to remove this month. Thankfully at this time it does not appear that the cancer has spread, though sadly portions of his stomach and other organs will also need to be removed. The doctors give him a very good chance to beat this, and he is still incredibly strong in body and spirit despite this illness gnawing at him.

Many of you know Chef Dave from his years as the founding/head chef at Ambrosia Restaurant and Bar in Eugene, OR. Anyone who worked with him can tell a story or two about how fun, generous, and easy going of a guy Dave is. I've stayed close with him since his retirement and I can assure you he is still just as awesome as he was back then. He has been enjoying his retirement time with his wife, Jan, and we'd all be thrilled to see him beat this illness and carry on with life and get to enjoy his retirement.

Though insurance covers some of these expenses, a high percentage will not be. Some initial costs are not covered, and neither is the pricey medicine that he will need to replace some of the stomach enzymes lost due to the surgery.

I truly hope this GoFundMe will help provide some relief to Dave and his family from these extreme costs. He has always been a very giving person and I hope that you will lend a bit of help to this great man in his time of need.
