What’s Going On

Over the past week, Sri Lanka has been hit with severe flooding — homes underwater, families displaced, whole communities trying to rebuild with almost nothing left. It’s been rough to watch from afar, especially for those of us who are originally from Sri Lanka and still have family, friends, and memories tied to the island.

Being this far away doesn’t make it easier. If anything, it makes you feel helpless.

So this week, we’re doing what we can, in the way we know best — together.

Why We’re Raising Funds

We wanted to support an organisation on the ground who are actually doing the work — no middlemen, no vague promises.

We’ll be donating everything raised to Foundation of Goodness, a trusted not-for-profit in Sri Lanka that’s been helping communities for over 25 years. They operate village-level centres that provide essentials, crisis relief, and long-term support to families who need it most.

They’re currently coordinating emergency response across flood-affected areas, supplying food, clean water, medicine, and rebuilding support.

This fundraiser goes directly towards that work.

How We’re Contributing

Here’s how we’re playing our part:

Anyone can chip in — a little, a lot, whatever you feel. Every cent helps.

2️⃣ This Friday at Seeing Double

Whatever we make on the door this Friday, we’re adding to the total donation.

No cuts. No percentages.

Just all of it.

We’ll add the final door amount as an offline donation so it’s fully transparent and shows up here too.

Transparency

We are Seeing Double, a Melbourne-based house music community run by a group of friends, several of whom were born in Sri Lanka. Many of our families, friends, and loved ones still live in the regions hit hardest by the floods, which is why this fundraiser is so personal to us.

All money raised — including our Friday door contribution — will be transferred directly by us to the Foundation of Goodness in Sri Lanka, who are currently providing emergency relief, food, medical supplies, clean water, and support to affected families. We will post full proof of transfer once the donation is made.

No surprises. No mystery. Just the full story.

Why This Matters

Even though we’re miles away, Sri Lanka is still home for us — it’s where our families grew up, where our stories started, and where people we love are dealing with something unimaginable right now.
