Residential Services, Inc. (RSI) is a nonprofit organization that provides living options and social, occupational and community support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Chapel Hill area. I began working with RSI in 2014, and have made great friends and experienced firsthand the impact this organization has within our community.
To celebrate my 35th birthday, I registered for the Tobacco Road Marathon (March 19, 2023) and have set an ambitious fundraising goal to support RSI. With your support, I am hoping to raise $17,500 together with my co-worker/friend/running mentor Eric (pictured on the left in the photo above).
Thank you for anything you can give to help me support an essential organization in our community.
Money transfer and delivery to RSI:
I am not related to anyone receiving these funds. I am a former employee of the organization and have done my best to stay connected with them over the years. After the marathon, all money will be transferred from GoFundMe to my personal account, and then I will submit a formal donation for that full amount to RSI through their website. I will designate the funds as unrestricted so RSI leadership can decide where the funds are needed the most this year.
This process is necessary for Cisco to match RSI's funds. RSI is registered as an eligble nonprofit through Cisco BrightFunds to receive matching donations. I will submit the RSI donation receipt to Cisco for the 100% match to be sponsored. I will post a picture of the donation receipt here to the GoFundMe page!
disclaimer: no raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or returns on investment are offered in exchange for any donations made to this GoFundMe.
