As the horrific tragedy that befell the Tree Of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh reveals all too clearly: the most sacred places of the American Jewish community remain vulnerable and susceptible to attack.
Community Security Service (CSS), a 501c3 non-profit, is the only organization in the country offering a training program and operational infrastructure to safeguard Jewish communities from the increasing threat of violent incidents and terrorism. We have been helping secure the Jewish community since 2007, with now more than 4,000 volunteers nationwide. But it is not nearly enough...
Our members volunteer more than their time; they step up to be the first line of defense to help safeguard our communities. Operating on a limited budget, we rely on the generosity of donors to help us continue making Jewish lives and our way of life safer.
Right now we are raising money for everything from protective vests for volunteers to online training platforms for new communities to additional certifications for new trainers.
