Eleven years ago, our swimming pool should have closed.
Funding was gone. Doors were at risk of locking for good. A vital community space — where children learn to swim, where confidence is built, where health, wellbeing and inclusion come together — was on the brink of being lost.
But the community stepped forward.
Local people refused to let it disappear. Volunteers, families, supporters and funders came together to save what mattered. From that moment, Swim Narberth CIO was born — not as a luxury, but as a necessity.
Today, the pool is thriving.
Every week, over 500 children and 1,000 adults walk through our doors. We teach life-saving skills. We support physical and mental wellbeing. We provide a safe, inclusive space for everyone — regardless of age, ability or background.
But community assets don’t stand still.
To remain safe, sustainable and fit for future generations, the pool now needs significant investment. A £300,000 transformation project will modernise facilities, improve safeguarding, increase accessibility, and ensure the pool remains open for decades to come.
We have the opportunity to unlock this investment — but we must first raise £40,000 in match funding.
This £40,000 is more than money.
It is the key that unlocks the remaining funding.
It is the community saying, “We’re still here. This still matters.”
We’ve saved this pool once before.
Now we’re asking you to help secure its future.
£40,000 today. A £300,000 legacy for tomorrow.
Because when a community believes in something — incredible things happen.
