Title: Help Us Secure Safe Housing & Life-Sustaining Support After LVAD Heart Surgery
Hi, my name is Tammy McGuire, and I’m raising funds on behalf of my husband—my best friend, my partner, and the love of my life—who is currently fighting advanced heart failure.
Due to the severity of his condition, my husband has to undergone major heart surgery (which had to be rescheduled from its original date due to him getting an infection, and that infection needing to be cleared up first). This is a major, life-saving heart surgery called an LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device). This device is not optional—it will be keeping him alive while we navigate the next steps of his heart failure journey.
While we are deeply grateful for the medical care he’s receiving, this surgery has completely changed the way we must live—and the urgency of our situation cannot be overstated.
Why We Need Help Immediately
After LVAD surgery, my husband must remain connected to a constant power source overnight to keep his device functioning properly. His power cord is 26 feet long, which means our housing must meet very specific, non-negotiable requirements for his safety and survival:
* First-floor living only (flights of stairs are no longer safe or possible)
* A bathroom directly connected to the master bedroom
* Accessible electrical outlets positioned to safely support his LVAD equipment
* Enough space to accommodate medical equipment and recovery needs.
Our current housing does not meet these medical requirements, and remaining there places his life at risk. We urgently need to relocate to a home that will safely support his recovery and daily
Power Is Life
One of the most critical needs we face is the purchase of a medical-grade generator.
If the power goes out—even briefly—my husband must immediately connect to a backup power source. A generator is not a luxury; it is life-sustaining equipment that could mean the difference between life and death during a power outage.
Transportation for Ongoing Care
Heart failure and LVAD care require frequent medical appointments, follow-ups, and emergency visits. We will need to purchase a reliable vehicle to ensure he never misses critical care due to transportation limitations.
A Wife Standing in Faith
As his wife, I am doing everything I can—praying, planning, advocating, and preparing—to create a safe and stable environment for his healing. I am trusting God step by step, believing “The Lord will provide.” (Genesis 22:14)
Still, this journey is not meant to be walked alone. I am doing everything in my power to create an environment where he can heal, rest, and live with dignity.
But I cannot do this alone.
How Your Support Helps
Your donation will directly help us with:
* Securing safe, medically-appropriate first-floor housing
* Purchasing a generator to protect him during power outages

Every donation—no matter the size—brings us one step closer to safety, stability, and peace of mind during the most fragile season of our lives.
If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping our family in your prayers. Your kindness, generosity, and support mean more than words can express. Every donation is an act of compassion, obedience, and partnership in faith.
We are standing on the promise that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)
Sealing our request with prayer and the blood of the lamb;
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father,
We come before You with humble hearts, thanking You for being our healer, our provider, and our refuge in this season. We thank You for sustaining my husband’s life and for the wisdom You’ve given the doctors and medical teams caring for him.
Lord, we ask You to go before us and make a way where there seems to be no way. Provide the right home, the right resources, and every provision needed for his safety and recovery. Cover our household with peace, strength, and protection. Let every need be met according to Your riches in glory.
Bless every person who gives, shares, prays, and stands with us. Return their kindness a hundredfold. We place our trust in You, believing that You are faithful and that You are not finished with our story.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
From the bottom of my heart,
Thank you.
With gratitude, faith and hope,
Tammy McGuire
