Support for Officer T and Her Daughter
Many of us know and appreciate Officer T, the kindhearted and dedicated guard who watches over our children and safeguards our very special campus each day. What many may not know is that Officer T is a US veteran, a mother, has been working a second job on the grave yard shift, after finishing up her day shift at WHPS, and has been unhoused for over a year.
Officer T is honest, resilient and resourceful in the face of significant adversity. She comes to work on time, with a smile, a positive attitude, and makes sure to guard our children, faculty and staff. She is both the first line of action, should there be an emergency. She serves a dual function as a true ambassador of good will and spirit as she is often the first person, anyone interacts with at our campus, whether is during morning drop off, vendors coming to provide services, or simply new parents looking to tour the grounds and meet the staff to netter determine if our WHPS community is a possible good fit for them and theirs.
Officer T often works in excess of 80 hours a week and has been commuting in heavy traffic to take her 14-year-old daughter to school more that 35 miles away each day in Santa Clarita. She is working tirelessly to find stable housing for them both and social services while working extremely long hours.
Despite best efforts, numerous challenges that are intrinsic to be unhoused, have arisen that are making it very hard to secure stable, & safe housing and the appropriate medical and social services that are needed.
As a community, we have a chance to support Officer T and her daughter in securing a safe home. We’re raising funds to help with housing costs, deposits, and other financial hurdles. T didn’t ask for this—she’s incredibly strong and humble—but with encouragement, she has allowed us to rally behind her.
If you’d like to contribute, or if you know of housing opportunities (such as an available RV, ADU, guest house, and alternative work opportunities, please reach out. Every bit of support helps.
Thank you to Officer T for being so transparent about her family 's situation as it is not easy for her, to allow our community to help. Additionally, thank you to everyone who has donated so far and to Danielle Duckette, Abby Ciccarelli, and Sara Roffe for the many weeks of caring, support, planning and funding they have contributed. Let’s come together and show Officer T the same kindness she gives to all of us.
Thank you for being part of this effort!
