Secure Noelle's Future in Higher Education
Donation protected
My name is Noelle, and I am an independent college student at American University, originally from Chicago! Due to a cycle of generational poverty, I rely on federal aid and scholarships to support my education. My time in higher education has proven extremely difficult as taking appropriate steps to care for my health, purchase basic necessities, or even afford to wash my clothes on campus has felt out of reach and economically irresponsible. Alongside these previous barriers, the current administration has made the future of my education, financial possibilities, and law school uncertain.
Over the last year, I have applied to hundreds of jobs, summer internships, and scholarships. Last summer I experienced a housing crisis, where I lacked basic necessities and unfortunately was unable to make enough to pay rent despite having two low paying jobs.
I am under constant worry that without mutual aid, I will not be able to pursue my education. My most urgent needs include a computer, hygiene products, and building financial security through building my savings.
By donating, you will be contributing to:
- My ability to pursue higher education
- Academic supplies (computer, textbooks, etc)
- Public transportation (cta, and light travel expenses for school)
- Hygiene and feminine care essential products
- Essential needs (housing, food, clothing)
In addition to financial support, I am also actively seeking job opportunities that will help me build stability.
