Secure a Specialist Rehabilitation Home for Foxy

Hi, my name is Gillian, and I am fundraising for Foxy, a 6-year old ex-racehorse who urgently needs specialist care and rehabilitation. Foxy sustained a career-ending injury when she was hit in the eye by a clump of dirt that flew up during a race. The impact caused her to fall head first, which damaged her neck and shoulders. Her eye became infected and had to be removed. Foxy did not adjust well to one eye and she became more "difficult" to manage. Her racing career ended, Foxy was put to a breeding facility to be a broodmare and produce foals. Her first foal died at birth and this seemed to tip Foxy over the edge, she became dangerous and unmanageable. She was rescued from the breeding facility but has not gotten over the tragic loss of her foal. Her current rescuer is already caring for several horses and wanting to do what is best for Foxy has asked me to step in.

 

I successfully rehabilitate "unmanageable" horses. I can help Foxy release the trauma and feel safe again in this world. I can help her adjust to having one eye. However, it will take months of intense one-to-one work to undo the years and layers of trauma of such an extreme case. I have found a volunteer to help  me document Foxy's journey, I just need help with her care in the initial months to make this miracle happen. Can you help?
