Secure a Safe Home for a Family

I'm desperately trying to get out of a cycle of homelessness with my children, after having to leave their dad because he became physically and verbally violent and abusive. I need help getting us into an efficiency apartment that's easy to maintain the rent payment on my own, but am not capable of getting into without help. The weather has highs of 20 degrees, and getting as low as 4. My children need and deserve stability, and every day is numbered with having no money to stay in a hotel any longer, and shelters being full and having no space for us.
